Angela and Laurie, who work at the St. John’s Homeless Shelter, visited the K-8 children on Tuesday during Catholic School Week. They shared how this center assists adults who have no place to live, sleep and eat. Each person who comes is treated kindly and given the help they need. Angela and Laurie also gave the children suggestions of what they might do for St. John’s Center in the future. They can donate clothing, draw happy pictures, and even bake cookies for them.
The children at St. Thomas More were asked to donate $1 so that these people can have good meals, clothing and a place to be warm. The children were to do a kind deed at home to earn the dollar.
